1. The service
Tex.ink lets you write, compile and collaborate on LaTeX documents in your browser: real-time co-editing, sandboxed compilation with TeX Live, an AI assistant, templates, and integrations such as GitHub, Zotero and the Tex.ink MCP server. We continuously improve the service and may add, change or retire features; if a change materially reduces what you paid for, we will tell you in advance.
2. Your account
You need an account to use the service. Keep your credentials secure: you are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old. You can delete your account at any time from your settings.
3. Plans, billing and cancellation
- The Free plan is free forever, with the limits shown on the pricing page.
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through our billing provider. Current prices and limits are always those shown on the pricing page.
- You can cancel at any time; your plan stays active until the end of the paid period, then your account moves to the Free plan. Your projects remain available within the Free plan’s limits.
- If a payment fails and is not resolved, we may downgrade the account after notice.
4. Your content
You keep all rights to the documents, files and other content you create or upload. You grant us only the license needed to operate the service: storing your content, syncing it between collaborators, compiling it, and backing it up. Projects are private until you share them. You are responsible for having the rights to the content you upload and for what you share with collaborators.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service for unlawful content or activity, or to infringe others’ rights;
- attempt to break out of the compilation sandbox, probe or disrupt our infrastructure, or access other users’ data;
- use compilation resources for anything other than building documents (for example crypto-mining or load testing);
- resell the service or circumvent plan limits, including AI credit limits;
- send spam or abusive messages through collaboration features.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with notice when practical.
6. AI features
The AI assistant is powered by a third-party model and can make mistakes. Suggestions are exactly that — review them before applying; you remain responsible for your documents. Each plan includes monthly AI credits; unused credits do not roll over. A project owner can disable AI for a project.
7. Third-party services
Integrations such as GitHub, Zotero and MCP clients connect Tex.ink to services governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for those services, and you can disconnect an integration at any time.
8. Availability
We aim for high availability but the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Export your work regularly — the editor lets you download your sources and PDFs at any time.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of profits or loss of data, and our total liability for claims related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these terms or when required by law. Upon deletion, your data is removed as described in the privacy policy.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. For material changes we will give you notice in the application or by email before they take effect; continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Tex.ink is established, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Questions about these terms: support@tex.ink.
